Ο Uri Geller ας πουμε το ισχυριζεται. Αν τον δεις λοιπον να λυγιζει ενα κουταλι "με την σκεψη του" σε βιντεο θα τον πιστεψεις;
Κατα δευτερον, ας πουμε οτι εμφανιζεται καποιος σαν τον Criss Angel και λεει οτι αυτα που κανει ειναι αληθινη μαγεια. Αρα δεν θα γνωριζεις εξαρχης οτι ειναι τρυκ. Αυτο ομως που βλεπεις στο βιντεο υπερβαινει τους νομους της φυσικης. Πιστευεις αυτο που βλεπεις, ή θεωρεις οτι μαλλον κατι δεν παει καλα, και καποιο τρικ χρησιμοποιει; Ποια ειναι η πιο λογικη εξηγηση;
Και ποιος σου ειπε οτι η λογική εξηγηση δε μπορεί να αφορά κάποια ικανότητα που φαινεται υπερφυσική επειδη δε την κατανοουμε ;
Σου φαίνεται εξίσου πιθανό δλδ, ολόκληρο πλήρωμα κινηματογραφικό, να προσποιείται στην κάμερα, για τις ικανότητες του ανθρωπου αυτου και να στήνει οπτικά τρυκ....με σκοπό τι ; Και σαν τι να υπάρχει πισω απο την κάμερα, που φαίνεται οτι ειναι μακριά απο τον ανθρωπο και εχει κανει ζουμ, που να αναψει το χαρτι ;
Δεν ειπα οτι ισχυριστηκες κατι τετοιο. Εδωσες πιθανες ιδεες και απαντησα γιατί δεν ειναι και τοσο πιθανές. "Πιθανός οτιδηποτε άλλο"...σαν τι δλδ ;
Ναι μου φαινεται πιο πιθανο απο το να υπερβαινει ενας ανθρωπος του νομους της φυσικης. Εσενα;
Αλλα αν κανουμε το δευτερο, πως θα ξεκαθαρισουμε τι ειναι οντως αποτελεσματικο και τι οχι;

Συγκεκριμενα, παραθετω κομματια απο το βιβλιο "Trick or Treatment?: Alternative Medicine on Trial " των Simon Singh και Edzard Ernst, που αφορουν την κριτικη (ή καλυτερα του systematic review) διαφορων ερευνων πανω στην επιδραση του βελονισμου απο την Cochrane Collaboration (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cochrane_Collaboration και www.cochrane.org):
"The Cochrane reviews suggest that there is no significant evidence to show that acupuncture is an effective treatment for any of the following conditions: smoking addiction, cocaine dependence, induction of labour, Bell's palsy, chronic asthma, stroke rehabilitation, breech presentation, depression, epilepsy, carpal tunnel syndrome, irritable bowel syndrome, schizophrenia, rheumatoid arthritis, insomnia, non-specific back pain, lateral elbow pain, shoulder pain, soft tissue shoulder injury, morning sickness, egg collection, glaucoma, vascular dementia, period pains, whiplash injury and acute stroke. Having examined scores of clinical trials, the Cochrane reviews conclude that any perceived benefit from acupuncture for these conditions is merely a placebo effect. The summaries contain the following sorts of conclusions:
“Acupuncture and related therapies do not appear to help smokers who are tag to quit.”
ʽThere is currently no evidence that auricular acupuncture is effective for the treatment of cocaine dependence.”
“There is insufficient evidence describing the efficacy of acupuncture to induce labour.”
“The current evidence does not support acupuncture as a treatment for epilepsy.”
The good news for acupuncturists is that the Cochrane reviews have been more positive about acupuncture's ability to treat other conditions. Here have been cautiously optimistic Cochrane reviews on the treatment of pelvic and bad pain during pregnancy, low bad pain, headaches, post-operative nausea and vomiting, chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting, neck disorders and bedwetting. Aside from bedwetting, the only positive conclusions relate to acupuncture in dealing with some types of pain and nausea.
Although these particular Cochrane reviews are the most positive about acupuncture's benefits, it is important to note that their support is only half-hearted. For example, in the case of idiopathic headaches, namely those that occur for no known reason, the review states: “Overall, the existing evidence supports the value of acupuncture for the treatment of idiopathic headaches. However, the quality and amount of evidence are not fully convincing.”
To remedy the situation, Germany's Federal Committee of Physicians and Health Insurers took a dramatic step and decided to initiate eight high-quality acupuncture trials, which would examine four ailments: migraine, tension-type headache, chronic low back pain and knee osteoarthritis. These trials were to involve more patients than any previous acupuncture trial, which is why they became known as mega-trials.
The number of patients in the trials ranged from 200 to over 1000. Each trial divided its patients into three groups: the first group received no acupuncture, the second group received real acupuncture, and the third (placebo) group received sham acupuncture. In terms of sham acupuncture, the researchers did not employ the new stage-dagger needles, as they had only just been invented and had not yet been properly assessed. Instead, sham acupuncture took the form of misplaced or superficial needling.
Due to their sheer size, these mega-trials have taken many years to conduct. They were completed only recently and the emerging data is still being analysed, nevertheless, by 2007 the researchers published their initial conclusions from all the mega-trials. They indicate that real acupuncture performs only marginally better than or the same as sham acupuncture. The conclusions typically contain the following sort of statement: “Acupuncture was no more effective than sham acupuncture in reducing migraine headaches”. Again, the trend continues - as the trials become increasingly rigorous and more reliable, acupuncture increasingly looks as if it is nothing more than a placebo."
