Now iv read online that the OEM version is just the same as retail (RTM) but you get no Microsoft support, and no booklet. Another thing im reading is that the OEM version can only be installed on one machine and you need to call Microsoft if you want to change machines, or even change any hardware within that machine. This is where the problem comes in as i want to use this OS on multiple machines. This is also really confusing as i purchased a OEM version of Windows Vista about 2 years ago, and currently have it installed on 4 computers in my house all activated and getting updates from Microsoft. I have probably used the OEM Vista on around 10+ clean installs all activated, no problems etc AND have changed hardware in a number of PC's with it installed, and no activation message has popped up ever. I was just about to purchase the Windows 7 OEM online expecting the exact same installation methods as i did with my Vista OEM but as i read online, it states it is tied to a single PC and has all these restrictions. Is anyone able to explain how this theory works, as with my Windows Vista OEM, it was the total opposite to what they are explaining online.
Does Windows 7 OEM work different to Windows Vista OEM?, if i purchase the Windows 7 OEM, will i be able to install it on multiple machines as i did with the Vista OEM, or am i better off going Retail, and i think that can be used on as many machines as you want.... If someone can explain all this, that would be GREAT!,
Thanks
