Turkcell has confirmed that, as part of its efforts to selectively seek and evaluate new international investment opportunities, it is investigating, among others, the possibility of a purchase of TIM Hellas Telecommunications, a Greek GSM mobile operator.
The company informed that no decision to make an offer to purchase this company has been taken so far.
Turkcell noted that it would require a Board decision to make such an offer.
Turkcell is a GSM operator in Turkey.
In addition to wireless telephone services, the company currently offers GPRS countrywide and EDGE in dense areas.
The company presently provides roaming with 537 operators in 193 countries.
