How far can 100kWh of clean electricity get you in a battery-electric vs hydrogen fuel cell vs hydrogen combustion vehicle?
In addition to being way less efficient it’s also going to be much more expensive. Hydrogen requires far more source energy per km, more expensive equipment to convert it to hydrogen, more expensive equipment to compress it, & more expensive equipment to transport it ( H2 molecules are far bigger & heavier than electrons ) …& you know all of those middle players ( hydrolysis, compression, & transport providers ) are going to want a cut ( another reason why fossil fuel companies are promoting hydrogen, besides just to delay EVs ) which will further add to your cost to fuel up; and distribution will add another middle-man, with middle-markup, every time you fuel …because you can’t fuel up on H2 at home like you can with an EV.
But don’t worry “hydrogen will get better”
…they promise
