Sneak preview Samsung i450
The Samsung i450 is the first
dual-slider phone of the Korean producer. However, a comparison with Nokia's popular N95 dual-slider cannot be made because Samsung's dual-slider is focussed on a totally different area. Besides the dual-slide possibility of this device, the
Samsung i450 offers endless functionality concerning multimedia and network support, so it will be perfect for the photo and musiclover, but also for those who think that a quick connection is a must.
At first sight, the Samsung i450 looks like every other slider device. Nicely compact and equipped with the standard keys. On the contrary, the first difference with standard sliders can be found at the frond of the device when we take a good look at the navigation key. This namely does not work like a regular five-way navigation key, but as a scrollwheel and that is very comfortable.
The device is made for both male and female consumers due to the white and black castings of the device, but at these colours we can also clearly see that Samsung aims for the younger consumer with the i450.
The nice and big 262.000 colours TFT display is clear and offers a good view on selfmade photos and of course, the menu.
Photos can be made with the
2 megapixel camera that is placed at the back of the debice. Besides this, a
VGA videocall camera is also present, this one is placed at the front. That the user of the Samsung i450 can make videocalls also requires a little more of the network support. This can almost not get any better than with the Samsung i450 because of its variety in network support and the user will always find a way to the internet or the t-mail box. The Samsung i450 namely offers
GPRS, EDGE, UMTS, HSDPA and WCDMA support and because of this it will offer a good speed on the worldwide web.
The Samsung i450 offers
35 MB internal memory which is
expandable with MicroSD and TransFlash memorycards. A nice combination with this is the well-known
Samsung musicplayer, which can be sued with a regular headset or with a wireless stereo Bluetooth headset. Due to the Bluetooth support it will also be easy to quickly send files to other phones or the computer.
Now the time has come for one of the special things of the Samsung i450: the dual-slide possibility.
On one hand, the Samsung i450 can be slide downwards and a good regular keyboard that can be used for typing messages is revealed. On the other hand, when we slide the Samsung i450 upwards, an enormous extra speaker shows herself. This speaker can be used for playing music on the device itself and with this the user will not have to use the headset to get a good sound quality on the Samsung i450.
